Cindy & Sotos – The Boathouse, Ormesby
Wow, what a day!
I had the absolute privilege of shooting Cindy & Sotos’s beautiful wedding over at The BoatHouse on Ormesby Broad in North Norfolk. As venues go, the Ormesby Broad Boathouse is one of the Norfolk wedding venue jewels – a nearly unbeatable combination of a fantastic venue set in a gorgeous location with the enchanting backdrop of the Norfolk Broads.
The day started with time at the Boathouse to catch up with Sotos and his two Best Men while they tried to relax and avoid those pre-wedding jitters…
I always love to take a few moments to capture those little amazing details that are dotted around the venue. Both Cindy and Sotos are deeply musical – with Sotos running Ashwood Recording Studios and Cindy being a performing and teaching Harpist – and an awesome musical theme runs throughout.
After capturing the details, our next stop is the equally lovely Waterside in Rollesby to await the arrival of Cindy and her Bridesmaids along with taking a moment to admire Gentleman Jim, looking simply resplendent in the sun.
Summoned by our boat captain, it’s full steam ahead with the bridal party embarking the boat, and everyone heading back to the Boathouse for a beautiful outdoor ceremony.
After a gorgeous ceremony with blue skies and fantastic early afternoon sunshine, what could be better than escaping back onto the Broad for a few minutes to let everything start to gently sink in?
Back on dry land, it’s time for an awesome confetti welcome and a few all important group shots – including me getting the boat all to myself for a few extra-special photos!
Photos done for the moment, it’s over to the fantastic Boathouse team to work their magic with the Wedding Breakfast (absolutely perfect once again!), interspersed by some some of the most hilarious tales I’ve heard for a long time. Well done guys, and especially to the joint Best Men on their first outing in this special role!
With the evening’s entertainment in full swing, we were treated to an unexpected surprise – in the form of one of those word-defying Ormseby Broad sunsets. We dashed outside, and quickly realised that the Boathouse is even more beautiful once the sun goes down!
I promise any future clients that I’ll try and order one of these up for every Boathouse wedding… No guarantees on that one however!
Once the party was in full swing and the sun had set, unfortunately the rain also set in… perfect timing for a few extra special photos! Whoever said rain has to spoil things?
To round out this incredible day, we popped back inside while some crazy moves appeared out of nowhere and the party kicked into high gear!
A fantastic day, an awesome venue and a simply lovely couple. Congratulations once again to the new Mr & Mrs!
