Jo & Dave – Cley Windmill Norfolk Wedding
Over the last few years I’ve been lucky to have the privilege of being invited to photograph weddings of literally all shapes and sizes.. but until this magical late May day, never such a beautifully intimate and perfect celebration of two people, crazily in love.
Words fail to describe quite what a special day this was! When photographing weddings, it truly isn’t often that you get to spend a wonderfully sunny afternoon with two very-much in-love people, doing nothing but taking a stroll around Cley in Norfolk to celebrate the perfect Norfolk Wedding.
Let me introduce you to the fantastic Jo and Dave, who married at the wonderfully eclectic Cley Windmill right on the North Norfolk coast.
Jo and Dave had travelled to Norfolk from Derbyshire for an idyllic intimate Norfolk wedding with their two mums, who doubled up as the only two guests & witnesses. With the sun shining and incredible blue Norfolk skies, I arrived at the windmill to find Jo getting ready in the Dovecote cottage with both mums and plentiful cups of tea to keep everyone organised.
After catching all the important bits it was then up a ladder to the Wheel Room right at the top of the windmill to meet Dave, getting ready complete with a fine pair of Star Wars socks and a fantastically smart waistcoat festooned with buttons; all perfectly matched to Jo’s incredible dress.
As Jo walked into the ceremony room, the love these two incredible people have for each other outshone the gorgeous sun. With a set of the most beautiful vows I’ve had the privilege of hearing, the two were married in front of their mums (and me, along with the awesome Mike of MS Provision Videography).
“Though dark days and winters must come, I will be by your side till the swallows return.”
With the formalities concluded, we ventured outside into the sun with the brand-new Mr & Mrs and after two of the most amazing hours shooting a crazy amount of magically lovely cuddles and pulling on wellies for a walk along the beach, I think I’m going to leave the photos to do the rest of the talking!
