Jo & Jon – Hockering House Norfolk Wedding Photography

From the moment I first met the lovely Jo & Jon to chat about their plans for Hockering House, their sense of fun and dedication to creating the day of their dreams was nothing short of infectious. As we walked around the grounds with Jo talking through her thoughts for the day it was clear we were heading for a spectacular DIY wedding set in the gorgeous grounds of Hockering House and the accompanying Gorsey Meadow!

Jo & Jon poured their heart into designing, crafting and building nearly everything for their day – from asking family members to gather petals from their gardens for beautiful biodegradable confetti, to scouring Gumtree and 2nd-hand shops for anything they couldn’t make themselves.

Despite the weather giving it’s best impression of a typical “great British summer day” complete with torrential showers in the days before their wedding and a fair bit of unwanted water on the day, their love and dedication for one another shone brightly through the clouds for the absolute perfect Big Day.

With an immaculate hand-crafted fireplace, gorgeous flowers and a beautiful woodland as a backdrop, everyone was ready & waiting…

.. for THE most emotionally charged yet relaxed celebration I have yet to have the honour of being invited to capture!

Now, addressing the gentlemen & grooms to be; let’s get something potentially awkward out of the way. It is perfectly acceptable to be emotional on one’s wedding day – even if that involves tears of joy! Might be handy to have someone nearby prepared with tissues at the ready though.. Just in case…

” Love this one, might actually be my favourite shot of us together… ever  :)”

Little people – please invite them to your wedding!

I’ve been told that the contents of this little white book is a very, very closely guarded secret.. Rumour has it that it might just relate to an unbelievably epic hen do but I’m afraid that’s something I can neither confirm nor deny…

As the day progressed, the sun emerged from behind the clouds – creating an unbelievably perfect backdrop for that awesome tipi by Lisa & Matt over at Magical Camping. Really also must mention the lovely Penny Lane camper from Retro Campers Norfolk !

Those.. Awesome… Details…!

With a tiny hint of a sunset we seized the moment for.. well, I’m not entirely sure what you could call this.. but absolute full marks to Jo for the impressive run up, leap &  hanging on – and to Jon for somehow remaining upright!Jo_Jon_Hockering_House_BP15a

As dusk fell we were treated to a wonderfully rich Norfolk sky (that awesome tipi!!) although next on the agenda was time for Jo & Jon to strut their stuff on the dancefloor…

No wedding would be complete without a fantastic first dance, set against the magical tipi backdrop.

Once the dust had settled we nipped back outside for a few final extra-special shots with the aid of an extra-special umbrella for a little added magic.

Thanks for having me along guys – you rock!

Wonderful, lovely & amazing words from Jo:

From the first time I spoke to Tim online, I knew he was the right photographer for us. We were looking for someone who wouldn’t try to stage us or take the obvious or cliched photo. I wanted someone who would see the moment for what it was and capture that – the essence and emotion of the moment and therefore the day.

Tim was very open, communicative and listened intently to what we wanted. We found him very quick to reply to questions and comments online, over the phone and in person. Always friendly and professional and nothing was too much to ask. Even when an idea for a shot couldn’t be executed (English weather) he still bared the idea in mind and rolled with similar ideas which worked just as well!

Tim is not just a photographer, he really is an artist with great abilities. He has all the creative and technical skills needed to make the best of any conditions, setting and occasions, can adapt within seconds and has the ability to roll with your day in the way that you want it to be.

He is organised, well prepared and makes you feel comfortable quickly and easily. His fantastic eye for setting, colour and ability to portray the story within make him one of the best in our eyes, certainly we are thrilled with the images from our big day.

Thank you so much Tim xx
